Decadent Sponge Chocolate Cake

Decadent Sponge Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 130 g sugar
  • 70 g vegetable oil
  • 170 g flour
  • 40 g cocoa powder
  • 3 g baking soda
  • 3 g baking powder
  • 130 ml boiling water
  • 30 g walnuts, finely ground
  • 85 g dark chocolate
  • 85 g hot cream

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, mixing until just combined.
  4. Carefully pour in the boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake mold and bake in a preheated oven at 170°C – 180°C (340°F – 350°F) for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare the chocolate ganache by melting the dark chocolate in hot cream until smooth. Stir in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Once the cake is baked and cooled, spread the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  8. Serve the sponge chocolate cake and indulge in its rich, chocolaty goodness.
