Ingredients:

  • 250g Manitoba flour
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 200g ricotta cheese
  • 130g sugar
  • 12g fresh brewer’s yeast
  • 120g milk
  • 100g chocolate chips
  • Vanilla or vanillin
  • Powdered sugar for decoration

Preparation:

  1. Begin by melting the yeast in a glass of milk at room temperature.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flours, sugar, yeast mixture, and a dash of vanilla.
  3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly for a few minutes.
  4. Beat the eggs separately, then incorporate them into the mixture.
  5. Knead the dough for several minutes until the eggs are fully integrated.
  6. Gradually add the ricotta cheese to the dough, continuing to mix for approximately 10 minutes.
  7. Once the dough is smooth, fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow it to rise for 3 hours.
  9. After the rising period, roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut out donuts using a cookie cutter.
  10. Cover the donuts with plastic wrap and let them rise for an additional hour.
  11. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  12. Bake the donuts for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Once cooled, dust the donuts with powdered sugar for decoration.
