The Ultimate Goulash Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of beef chuck roast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 diced onion
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of caraway seeds
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 1 cup of diced tomatoes
- 1 cup of diced potatoes
- 1 cup of diced carrots
- 1 cup of frozen green peas
Directions:
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Brown the beef cubes on all sides, then set them aside.
- In the same pot, sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until softened.
- Stir in paprika, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper, cooking for 1 minute.
- Return the browned beef to the pot and add beef broth and diced tomatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 1/2 hours until beef is tender.
- Add diced potatoes, carrots, and peas. Continue simmering for another 30 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Serve with your choice of accompaniments like egg noodles, spaetzle, or bread dumplings.
