Fluffy Buttermilk Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 3/4 cup of buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, incorporate the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse sand.
  4. Create a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently until the dough just comes together.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently a few times.
  6. Pat the dough out into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
  7. Using a 2-inch biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet. Gather any remaining dough scraps and pat them out again to cut out additional biscuits.
  8. Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy the fluffy goodness!
