Exquisite Cinnamon Brown Sugar Crumb Cake
Indulge in the Heavenly Delight of Cinnamon Brown Sugar Crumb Cake
Ingredients:
Crumb Topping:
- 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups of packed light brown sugar
- ½ cup of granulated sugar
- 2 ½ teaspoons of ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted
Cake:
- 2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ½ cup of softened butter
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 cup of full-fat sour cream
- 1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and generously grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- For the crumb topping: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Drizzle in the melted butter, stirring with a fork until the mixture is well combined. Set aside.
- For the cake: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Using a stand mixer or hand mixer on high speed, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Reduce the speed to low and add the eggs one at a time, mixing just until combined. Then mix in the sour cream and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Allow the cake to cool for at least 45 minutes before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
