Delectable Garlic and Cheese Pinwheels

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons of instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 3/4 cup of warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup of softened unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. In a spacious bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for approximately 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Transfer it to a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm area until it doubles in size, which usually takes about 1 hour.
  3. Mix the softened butter with minced garlic and chopped parsley, setting the mixture aside.
  4. After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick. Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over the dough, then sprinkle it with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Carefully roll up the dough tightly from the long side, resembling a jelly roll. Slice it into 12 equal pieces and place them cut side up in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover it and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

Total Time: 2 hours 15 minutes
