Decadent Sponge Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 130 g sugar
- 70 g vegetable oil
- 170 g flour
- 40 g cocoa powder
- 3 g baking soda
- 3 g baking powder
- 130 ml boiling water
- 30 g walnuts, finely ground
- 85 g dark chocolate
- 85 g hot cream
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar, and vegetable oil until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Carefully pour in the boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake mold and bake in a preheated oven at 170°C – 180°C (340°F – 350°F) for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the chocolate ganache by melting the dark chocolate in hot cream until smooth. Stir in the chopped walnuts.
- Once the cake is baked and cooled, spread the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
- Serve the sponge chocolate cake and indulge in its rich, chocolaty goodness.
