Ingredients:
- 1 lb sausage, thinly sliced
- 2 lbs green beans, trimmed and halved
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the sliced sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Transfer the cooked sausage to a plate and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the finely chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent and fragrant.
- Grease a baking dish and layer half of the thinly sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Arrange half of the trimmed and halved green beans on top of the potatoes, followed by half of the browned sausage.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, green beans, and sausage.
- In a bowl, mix together the chicken broth and heavy cream. Pour the mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the baking dish.
- Season the casserole with salt and pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top layer.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Once cooked, garnish the casserole with fresh parsley before serving.
