Professional Banana Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 3 cups of whole milk
- 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 80g of chocolate
- 200ml of heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup of cold milk
Preparation:
- Begin by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add the eggs and granulated sugar, then beat until well combined. Stir in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely before proceeding.
- While the cake is cooling, prepare the custard filling. In a saucepan, whisk together the whole milk, cornstarch, all-purpose flour, and granulated sugar over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens into a custard-like consistency.
- Remove the custard from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until smooth. Allow the custard to cool completely.
- Once the cake and custard are cooled, use a sharp knife to gently cut the top off the cake, creating a flat surface. Place the cake on a serving plate.
- Spread the cooled custard evenly over the top of the cake.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Fold in the cold milk until combined.
- Spread the whipped cream mixture over the custard layer.
- Finally, grate the chocolate over the top of the cake for decoration.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Enjoy your delicious banana cake!
