Honey Cake Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
- 35ml vegetable oil
- 40ml milk
- 55g all-purpose flour
- 4 egg yolks
- 4 egg whites
- Juice of one lemon
- 45g sugar
- Honey
- Powdered sugar
Instructions:
- Begin by combining vegetable oil, milk, and flour in a bowl. Beat the mixture until smooth. Add egg yolks and continue beating until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, using an electric mixer, whisk egg whites with lemon juice until they form stiff peaks. Gradually add sugar, continuing to mix until the mixture is glossy and forms stiff peaks.
- Gently fold a portion of the whipped egg whites into the egg yolk mixture using a spatula until well combined.
- Carefully incorporate the remaining whipped egg whites into the egg yolk mixture, ensuring thorough mixing.
- Transfer the combined mixture into a pastry bag and pipe lines onto a parchment-lined baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C/320°F for approximately 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Once baked, remove the crust from the pan and transfer it onto a baking sheet. Cover with cling film and allow it to cool for 30 minutes.
- After cooling, gently split the crust in half and spread honey evenly over each half. Carefully roll each half into three separate rolls.
- Serve the honey cake rolls and garnish with powdered sugar for an elegant touch.
