Classic Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups dry elbow macaroni
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 (370 mL/12 oz) cans evaporated milk
  • 1/3 cup milk of your choice
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Directions:

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and macaroni, and cook until al dente. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter and stir until melted. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine evaporated milk, milk, eggs, and garlic salt until well mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  5. Layer 1/3 of the macaroni followed by 1/3 of the cheese mixture in the prepared baking pan. Repeat with remaining macaroni and cheese.
  6. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the top. Sprinkle paprika evenly over the dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your classic macaroni and cheese!
