A Life-Changing Amish Tuna Egg Salad Recipe
My Amish friend introduced me to this sandwich recipe, and it has truly transformed my culinary world. Since discovering it, I can’t seem to enjoy anything else!
Ingredients
- 4 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- 1 can (5 ounces) of tuna, drained and flaked
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons mustard
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 1 tablespoon diced onion
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: slices of your preferred sandwich bread
Preparation
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the chopped hard-boiled eggs and flaked tuna.
- Add the diced celery and onion to the bowl, mixing them in with the eggs and tuna.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and mustard until smooth and well combined.
- Pour the creamy dressing over the egg and tuna mixture. Use a spatula or spoon to gently fold everything together, ensuring the ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
- Season the salad with salt and pepper to taste. Mix gently once more to distribute the seasonings.
- Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Before serving, give the salad a final stir and adjust the seasoning if necessary. (Optional: Garnish with smoked paprika)
- Serve as desired, whether heaped onto sandwich bread or as a topping for a crisp salad. Enjoy your Amish Creamy Tuna Egg Salad, a perfect reflection of humble and satisfying comfort food.
