Grilled BBQ Chicken Drumsticks
Ingredients:
- 8-10 chicken drumsticks
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Your favorite barbecue sauce
Instructions:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels and season them generously with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), and dried thyme to create a flavorful rub.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over the drumsticks, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
- Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking, then place the seasoned drumsticks on the grill.
- Grill the chicken, turning occasionally, until it is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C), which should take around 20-25 minutes.
- During the last few minutes of grilling, generously brush the drumsticks with your favorite barbecue sauce, rotating them to ensure even coating and caramelization.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving.
