Philly Cheesesteak Sliders

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 large green pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1⁄2 pound fresh shaved steak
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 (12-pack) sweet bread buns
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (not ground)
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and green peppers, cooking until softened, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add shaved steak, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the pan. Break apart the steak with two forks to prevent clumping and cook until no longer red. Set aside.
  4. Slice the sweet rolls horizontally while keeping the 12-pack intact. Place them on a baking sheet.
  5. Spread the cooked steak mixture evenly over the bottom half of the sweet rolls. Top with provolone cheese slices and cover with the top half of the buns.
  6. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, dried thyme, and Worcestershire sauce. Brush the butter mixture generously over the top of the sliders.
  7. Place the sliders in the oven and bake for 17-20 minutes, or until the buns are golden and the cheese has melted.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy the irresistible flavors of Philly Cheesesteak in every bite.
