Cherry Cheesecake Lush
Ingredients:
- 1 package (14 ounces) golden Oreos, crushed in a food processor
- ⅓ cup melted salted butter
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 16 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 2 small boxes instant cheesecake-flavored pudding mix
- 3 cups whole milk
- 2 large cans cherry pie filling
- 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter and set aside.
- In a food processor, pulse the golden Oreos until they form small crumbs. Add the melted butter and pulse again until combined.
- Press the cookie mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating an even layer. Place the crust in the freezer for 10 minutes to set.
- In a bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 cup of the whipped topping until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled crust and return to the freezer for another 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix, milk, and ½ cup of whipped topping until the mixture begins to thicken. Spread the pudding mixture over the chilled cream cheese layer and smooth it evenly. Chill for 30 minutes or until the pudding is set.
- After 30 minutes, carefully spread the cherry pie filling over the pudding layer, ensuring not to mix the layers.
- Spread the remaining whipped topping over the dessert and sprinkle with chopped pecans or walnuts.
- Chill the dessert for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
