Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup beef broth
- ¼ cup A-1 Steak Sauce
- 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
- Sliced provolone cheese
- Hamburger buns, sliders, etc.
Instructions
- Cook the Beef Mixture: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, onion, green pepper, and salt until the beef is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat.
- Thicken the Mixture: Sprinkle the cornstarch over the cooked beef and mix until the meat is well coated. Add the beef broth, A-1 Steak Sauce, and steak seasoning. Stir and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Simmer: Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes. The sauce should thicken, and it will continue to thicken slightly after removing from heat.
- Prepare the Buns: While the meat mixture simmers, preheat your oven to broil. Place the buns on a baking sheet and butter each half. Broil for a few minutes until golden brown, watching carefully to avoid burning.
- Assemble the Sloppy Joes: Using a slotted spoon, scoop the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the top half of each bun. Broil again for a few minutes until the cheese melts.
- Serve: Place the top bun with melted cheese over the bottom bun with the beef mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!
This twist on the classic Sloppy Joe brings the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak to your dinner table. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal!
