Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup A-1 Steak Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
  • Sliced provolone cheese
  • Hamburger buns, sliders, etc.

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef Mixture: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, onion, green pepper, and salt until the beef is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat.
  2. Thicken the Mixture: Sprinkle the cornstarch over the cooked beef and mix until the meat is well coated. Add the beef broth, A-1 Steak Sauce, and steak seasoning. Stir and bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Simmer: Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes. The sauce should thicken, and it will continue to thicken slightly after removing from heat.
  4. Prepare the Buns: While the meat mixture simmers, preheat your oven to broil. Place the buns on a baking sheet and butter each half. Broil for a few minutes until golden brown, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  5. Assemble the Sloppy Joes: Using a slotted spoon, scoop the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Place a slice of provolone cheese on the top half of each bun. Broil again for a few minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. Serve: Place the top bun with melted cheese over the bottom bun with the beef mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!

This twist on the classic Sloppy Joe brings the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak to your dinner table. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal!
