Perfect Ribeye Steak Recipe
Ribeye Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 ribeye steak
- Flaky salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 50g butter
- 2 sprigs of thyme
- 1 garlic clove, crushed with skin intact
Instructions:
- Remove the steak from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before cooking to bring it to room temperature, ensuring even cooking.
- Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and pepper, sprinkling from a height to distribute evenly.
- Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. If cooking multiple steaks, ensure the pan has enough space for each or use multiple pans simultaneously.
- Cook the steak for 2-3 minutes on each side, adjusting based on desired doneness and thickness. For medium-rare, aim for a core temperature of 50°C, 60°C for medium, and 70°C for well-done.
- After flipping the steak, add butter, thyme, and crushed garlic to the pan. Baste the steak with the melted butter for a minute, tilting the pan to collect the butter and spooning it over the steak.
- Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes. This crucial step allows the meat to retain its juices when sliced, enhancing flavor and tenderness.
- Slice the steak against the grain, season to taste, and serve with your preferred sides and sauce. Enjoy your perfectly cooked ribeye steak!
