Lush Coconut Chocolate Dream Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus required ingredients: oil, eggs, water)
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup coconut cream
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Extra shredded coconut for topping
Directions:
- Prepare the Cake: Follow the instructions on the chocolate cake mix box to prepare the cake batter. Pour the batter into a 9×13 inch pan and bake as directed. Once baked, let the cake cool for about 10 minutes.
- Create the Coconut Infusion: While the cake is still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
- Sweetened Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and coconut cream. Pour this mixture evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
- Add Coconut: Sprinkle the shredded coconut evenly over the cake.
- Chocolate Drizzle: Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cake.
- Whipped Topping: In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Spread the whipped cream evenly over the top of the cake.
- Finishing Touches: Garnish with extra shredded coconut on top.
- Chill: Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together beautifully.
