Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of smoked sausage, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups of diced potatoes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a sizable skillet over medium heat, sauté the sausage and onion until the sausage achieves a golden brown hue and the onion turns translucent.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, blend the cooked sausage and onion with the diced potatoes, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, milk, sour cream, melted butter, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Transfer the amalgamation into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cup of cheddar cheese atop the mixture.
  5. Bake for approximately 60 minutes, or until the potatoes reach desired tenderness and the surface attains a luscious golden-brown hue with delightful bubbles.
