Fluffy Donuts (Moon Style Donuts)
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
- Orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 8 grams yeast
- 7 grams baking powder
- 150 milliliters (5.3 ounces) warm water
- 100 grams (0.7 cup) semolina
- 250 grams (1.7 cups) flour
- Cooking oil
- Sugar for sprinkling
Method
- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Add the flour and let the mixture rise for 10 minutes.
- Incorporate all the remaining ingredients and knead the dough until smooth.
- Roll out the dough and cut it into donut shapes. Allow the donuts to rise until doubled in size.
- Fry the donuts in ample cooking oil until they are golden brown.
- Sprinkle the freshly fried donuts with sugar and serve.
