Cream Cheese Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan to ensure the bread does not stick.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Whisk these dry ingredients together thoroughly.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs to the butter and sugar mixture one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in the mashed bananas and sour cream until the batter is well combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until it is smooth and creamy.
  7. Pour half of the banana batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Spread the cream cheese over the banana batter layer. Then, top with the remaining banana batter, ensuring an even layer.
  8. Bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
