Butter Cookies Recipe

Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose/plain flour
  • 185g butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 & 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the butter and icing sugar until pale and creamy.
  3. Add one egg and beat for about 3 minutes until well incorporated.
  4. Mix in the milk and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
  6. Transfer the dough into piping bags fitted with different nozzles for shaping.
  7. Pipe the dough onto a greased and lined baking tray.
  8. Place the tray in the fridge and chill for 30 minutes to help the cookies maintain their shape during baking.
  9. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  10. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven until they turn golden brown.
  11. Allow the cookies to cool before serving. Enjoy your delicious butter cookies!
