Classic Macaroni and Cheese Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 cups dry elbow macaroni
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 2 (370 mL/12 oz) cans evaporated milk
- 1/3 cup milk of your choice
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Directions:
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and macaroni, and cook until al dente. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter and stir until melted. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine evaporated milk, milk, eggs, and garlic salt until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Layer 1/3 of the macaroni followed by 1/3 of the cheese mixture in the prepared baking pan. Repeat with remaining macaroni and cheese.
- Pour the milk mixture evenly over the top. Sprinkle paprika evenly over the dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your classic macaroni and cheese!
