Classic Macaroni and Cheese Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of dry elbow macaroni
  • 4 tablespoons of salted butter
  • 2 cans (370 mL/12 oz each) of evaporated milk
  • 1/3 cup of milk of your choice
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 4 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

Directions:

  1. Start by bringing a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt to the boiling water and cook the macaroni until it reaches al dente texture.
  2. Drain the cooked macaroni and return it to the pot. Add the butter and stir until it’s fully melted. Set the pot aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, thoroughly combine the evaporated milk, milk, eggs, and garlic salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  6. Now, it’s time to layer: Start by placing one-third of the cooked macaroni into the prepared baking pan, followed by one-third of the cheese mixture. Repeat this layering process until you’ve used up all the macaroni and cheese.
  7. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the layered macaroni and cheese.
  8. Sprinkle paprika evenly over the top.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown on top.
