Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Cheesy Smashed Potatoes: A Gourmet Delight
Ingredients:
For the Steak Bites:
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Smashed Potatoes:
- 1 pound baby potatoes
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
For the Smashed Potatoes:
- Boil the Potatoes: Start by boiling the baby potatoes until they are tender, approximately 15 minutes. Drain them and let them cool slightly.
- Smash and Season: Place the potatoes on a griddle and smash them lightly with a spatula. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Cook to Perfection: Cook the potatoes until they are golden and crispy, around 10 minutes on each side. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and continue cooking until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
For the Steak Bites:
- Prepare the Griddle: Heat the griddle over high heat and add butter.
- Sauté the Garlic: Once the butter is melted and foamy, add the minced garlic and sauté until it becomes fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Cook the Steak: Add the steak bites to the griddle, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned on all sides, which should take about 8-10 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the steak bites from the heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
