- 2 racks of pork ribs (about 3-4 lbs each)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
Directions:
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under it and pulling it off.
- In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the mixture all over the ribs, ensuring both sides are coated evenly.
- Place the ribs in a baking dish, cover with aluminum foil, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best flavor).
- Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Bake the ribs, covered, for 3-4 hours or until they are tender and the meat falls off the bone.
- Remove the foil, brush the ribs with barbecue sauce, and broil for 5-7 minutes on each side until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.
